The One Big Beautiful Bill was signed into law on July 4, 2025. It is the single biggest piece of new tax law that we've had in years!

$4,000 Enhanced Senior Deduction – In addition to the $2,000 senior deduction already in place, Seniors who qualify can now get an addition $4,000 deduction per senior on the return.
No Tax on Tips – Tipped employees who qualify will not be taxed on up to $25,000 of tipped income.
No Tax On Overtime – Up tp $12,500 of overtime wages will not be subject to Income Tax for those who qualify.
SALT Deduction ceiling increased to $40,000 – The ceiling on deducting State & Local Income Taxes has been increased from $10,000 to $40,000. Many homeowners & high wage earners who were previously taking the standard deduction will once again be eligible to itemize their deductions.
Cash Charitable Contribution Deduction Eligible for Everyone! – Up to $1,000 of Charitable Contributions made by cash may not be deducted EVEN IF YOU DON"T ITEMIZE!

No. The One Big Beautiful Bill does not eliminate federal income tax on all tip income. Instead, it creates a limited above-the-line deduction for qualified tips, subject to annual caps, income phaseouts, occupation rules, and an expiration date .

Effective for: Taxable years beginning after December 31, 2024 (2025–2028 returns)
Maximum deduction:
Up to $25,000 per year per taxpayer
Income phaseout:
Deduction reduced by $100 for every $1,000 of modified AGI over:
$150,000 (single)
$300,000 (married filing jointly)
Who qualifies:
Only cash tips received in occupations that customarily and regularly received tips on or before December 31, 2024, as determined by Treasury

Tips must still be reported
Tips are not excluded from payroll taxes (Social Security and Medicare still apply)
